How do you brush your hair without it getting all light and airy?

I brush it when its almost dry, but it still gets really light and airy and it kindof "floats." My friends brush their hair with no problem. I know not to brush it when its wet, so I put in a leave in conditioner, use a wide tooth comb to get any bigger knots out and then when its dryer, if neseccary I brush it. I hardly ever use a blow dryer but when I do, I know to face it downwards and set it on a cool setting. So please, what do I do? I would love to go out with my hair down and not either really wet or dry and floaty! Thanks! God bles

Use a boar bristle flat brush. If it's still a bit wild try spritzing hairspray on the brush before you run it through each time. That should hold it down a bit and it also helps fight frizz.

Brush downwards, not back and down. Try using a paddle brush. If that doesn't work, apply a straightening gel to your hair when it's wet. I suggest Alterna Hemp (it's a pink tube).

just wet your hairbrush or a comb and go through your hair it really works.
