Is there any way to make poofy hair straight without a straighning iron or blow dryer? If there is can you tell me how to make poofy hair straight because my hair is poofy. Its not VERY poofy, its just expanded a little and I would really like it to be straight for once without using a straighning iron or going to the salon.

If you use a frizz taming product ( from John Frieda, Herbal Essences, Tresemme, Sunsilk, Paves, etc.) and try brushin it, you may be able to get some of the "poofiness" out. That works for me at times. If it's curly, the only way I can straighten my hair is by blow drying and then off the the straightening iron I go... and that only lasts an hour or so....
sorry for the rant... i just kind of dislike my hair at the moment.

It's extremely hard to straighten or "de-poofify" your hair without using such tools as a straightening iron or a blow dryer. But an easy way to make your hair less poofy with a blow dryer is to use a brush and blow dry it straight. I'm sorry I know you didn't want to use tools like those on your hair but it's really the only way I know of.

There are many different methods. The most drastic thing would be to perm or relax it. But i doubt you would want to do that. Maybe try some straightning gel or something?

set ur hair in big rollers and sit under a heated dryer for about 30-40 minutes or until dry, then remove rollers, brush ur hair around ur hair, pinning it down with bobby pins making sure it is smooth. then wrap ur hair up with a polyester scarf over nite. in the morning, remove the bobby pins and comb out ur hair... it should be very smooth, silky, and manageable.

My hair is really curly and poofy. I used to use the ironing board and iron. It took a lot less time and the results lasted much longer. I recently gave up on straightening my hair. I go natural. Poof and all.

If you go to walmart or target and go to the hair care aisle, there's this stuff in a purple box. I think it's called dark and lovely, It's a hair relaxer. It really does work good. You might try that along with shampoo and conditioner to treat frizzy hair and other hair care products
To the person that suggested using a hair relaxer - you are stupid! Why would you tell these girls that?? What if they have caucasian hair, do you know what that will do to a white girls hair? It will literally melt their hair off. Relaxers should ONLY be used on african american hair. I am a professional hairstylist and you should NEVER EVER suggest chemicals like that unless you've had a chance to analyze the hair.
