Whats the cold shot in hair dryers for ?

its usually to help "seal" in the style. for example after you finish gel-ing up your hair, if u would use the hot setting it wouldnt dry just get sticky and make the gel run, but the cool setting will help the gel set quicker or in a girls case, you should curl your hair with a curling iron or rollers and give them a cold shot to lock in the curl longer.

Whats the cold shot in hair dryers for ?

That blows cool or cold air instead of hat air it minamizes heat damage from your hair dryer

Whats the cold shot in hair dryers for ?

after u use the hairdryer or the shower u should rinse ur hair in cold water/air to close up the follicles and it makes ur hair smoother. when u usa the shower u should rinse ur body in cold water too , its good for ur immune and lymphatic system

Whats the cold shot in hair dryers for ?

To bug your siblings with early in the morning when they're still in bed.

Whats the cold shot in hair dryers for ?

The cold shot is simply to set your hair style. For instance if you have finished curling the ends of your hair, blast it with some cool air, and that will help keep the stlye longer. On certain models of hairdryers, it is also used to help reduce frizz and flyaways.

Whats the cold shot in hair dryers for ?

it is to help your hair shine after you dry your hair you should use it .

What is the fear of hair dryers, serial killers and, celing fans called?

I have these fears as well as many others. I would really like to know the specific kind of names like I have a fear of spiders and the specific name is Arachnephobia. Do someone know what these are?

What is the fear of hair dryers, serial killers and, celing fans called?

Arachnophobia fear of spiders

fear of hair dryers Electrotrichothermoxerophobia?

fear of ceiling fans Electroaltoaviophobia?

fear of serial killers Thanatoscelerophobia?

No terms for these exist as yet. Maybe you could come up with some suggestions.

motomaniphobia

What is the fear of hair dryers, serial killers and, celing fans called?

Irrational.

~Neeva

What is the fear of hair dryers, serial killers and, celing fans called?

I don't think that any of your fears have been made into an official phobia unless you have a fear of old people (Gerontophobia) or a fear of bums (Hobophobia). You can find a list of phobias at the following link

http://www.phobialist.com/reverse.html

What is the fear of hair dryers, serial killers and, celing fans called?

...Seriously paranoid...

To be honest, some phobias don't have specific terms. For you, I'd just go with "panophobia" - the fear of everything.

However, I doubt you have actual phobias when it comes to these things. It's one thing to be a little freaked out by a ceiling fan, and a whole other thing to go into full-on panic mode. And most of us would be afraid of a serial killer, but do you constantly live in fear of one and/or go to great lengths to avoid one?

Hold up one sec...you're a cheerleader who's afraid of hair dryers?

What's the best low maintenance haircut for someone with really thick, wavy hair?

The waviness is not at all uniform throughout, and I've found that it looks goofy when it's too short around my face because one side will flip out or something like that.

When I saw low maintenance, I mean no hair dryers, no curling irons, etc. Right now I usually wear my hair in a pony tail, but if it were shorter I wouldn't wear it up nearly as often.

Right now my hair is long (middle of my back) with layers, but it looks sort of goofy unless I wear it up because there's just so much of it.

Here's what it looked like when I got it cut a year ago (it's a lot longer again now though, and it's not nearly as red anymore either), so you can see what I mean about the nonuniform waves. I wouldn't mind something shorter as long as it looks good. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a317/c...

Any suggestions? Pics with examples would be helpful if possible.

What's the best low maintenance haircut for someone with really thick, wavy hair?

I seem to have the same texture and thickness of hair as you. To deal with the thickness, I get it layered quite a bit. I find that the length that works best for me is almost to my shoulders. Then I can let it air-dry and do nothing to it and it looks ok. With the layers and different lengths, it looks fine if it flips out all over the place because that's its style.

If you do cut your hair short again, make sure that you get it thinned. Thining doesn't work so well when it's longer though.

What's the best low maintenance haircut for someone with really thick, wavy hair?

i have the same problem as you. I usually get it cut up to your shoulder and layered in the back. However, i tried a new hairstyle. Have you seen Katie Holmes new haircut? Maybe that would look good...but I would have the front a little longer... Report It

CREW CUT

What's the best low maintenance haircut for someone with really thick, wavy hair?

A wedge or a bob

What's the best low maintenance haircut for someone with really thick, wavy hair?

I also have thick wavy hair. I have it shoulder length , I have it tapered starting at my cheekbone and it is layered at the ends so it is fluffy. It is low maintenance, I wash it and let it dry - it never looks goofy, in fact I get a lot of compliments on it :) I just use some Chi silk infusium and the shine spray to keep it soft and manageable.

Ask your stylist when she is working on your hair to make sure it does fall naturally. Mine does this so my hair never goes the wrong direction!

I hope so, cause I've been using it alot.

Does the ion technology in hair dryers really work?

I have an ion hair dryer, hot roller, and flat iron, and I can definitely see a difference when I use those tools compared to the others that I have that aren't ionic. The ionic ones make the hair shinier, smoother, and I believe they cause less damage.

Does the ion technology in hair dryers really work?

When hair is wet, it is vulnerable to damage. They say that you should not style your hair when it is wet. Having said that ionic hair dryers are really fast. It used to take me 1/2 hour to dry my hair. Now I can do it in 5 minutes with a very inexpensive Revlon Ion dryer. Bear in mind that my hair is to my waist and pretty high maintenance. Now it is easier to style my hair.

My wife has a problem with ions causing staticy, frizzy hair.....?

...She has tried the special hair dryers and sprays. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

My wife has a problem with ions causing staticy, frizzy hair.....?

I have very naturally curly and frizzy hair. Here's what I use....

Before I dry my hair, I use a serum from Paul Mitchell called "super skinny". It works WONDERS. She'll just need to put a small amount in her palms and work it through her hair then dry it. It's not really expensive, but I promise you it's worth it. It's one of my necessities. Here's a link to see what it is...

http://www.paulmitchell.com/Products/Pau...

Also, when she gets done drying her hair, using a good quality flat iron is a good idea also. You can use a Chi, which is fairly expensive ($100), or just go to a local beauty supply shop and make sure it's a ceramic flat iron, and it will work just as good. Before she uses anything on her hair as far as a curling iron or a flat iron, get her some "smooth and seal" from Big Sexy products. It's a spray, with no hold, but it protects and smooths the hair out. This is another one of my necessities. I spray my hair with this every day before I straighten it to keep it healthy and it gives it a nice shine. Here's a link for this also...

http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.a...

I use both of these everyday and I promise, they work wonders. They are definitely worth it. She'll love them. I hope this helps :)

My wife has a problem with ions causing staticy, frizzy hair.....?

Use a dryer sheet that goes in the dryer with your clothes.Just go over your hair with the dryer sheet a couple of times and that should help with frizzy hair.Or if it is REALLY frizzy, try a straighting iron called Chi Iron. They are around $100.00 but it is worth the money!!

My wife has a problem with ions causing staticy, frizzy hair.....?

Has she, perhaps, tried a dryer sheet? As strange as it sounds, it makes perfect sense. When my hair had some static issues of it's own, my grandma went straight for the dryer sheets. And to boost, you can always find some that smell good. =D Just take one out and have her rub it through her hair.

Hope it helps.

My wife has a problem with ions causing staticy, frizzy hair.....?

Have her hair straightened. There are ion straightening/thermal reconditioning/ japanese style straightening services in some salons. It costs a lot of money but it will surely get rid of the frizz. It lasts for around 6 months to a year.

My wife has a problem with ions causing staticy, frizzy hair.....?

There are some hair straighteners that you put water in them so when you straighten, it makes steam. There is one by Conair that is great. I used to have the same problem. Also get her to try different anti frizz serums, like hot oil.

How can i make my hair go str8 wiv out useing hair str8ners and hair dryers ?

you could try getting a relaxer, alot of people use it on african american hair, but I'm white, and I've used it before.

After I used it, I was able to let my hair air dry, and it was straight as a pin!

How can i make my hair go str8 wiv out useing hair str8ners and hair dryers ?

I don't have any experience with this cuz my hair is extremely straight, but my friend's hair sounds like yours and she uses a chemical straightner or something to make it straight

How can i make my hair go str8 wiv out useing hair str8ners and hair dryers ?

Hat hair is what I do when I'm having a bad hair day and don't have time to straighten it

Also, chemically may work

they tend to dry your hair.

I think my hair is getting thinner and breaking off, is their something I could stop it?

There are no bald patches or anything its like when I was a teenager it was a lot thicker and I didn't use hair dryers or any particular shampoo.

I think my hair is getting thinner and breaking off, is their something I could stop it?

Most people's hair changes with age.

Do you dye your hair? Obviously this damages it more.

Do you get it cut every 4-6 weeks? If not, it can break more easily and split ends can become more apparent.

Have you changed your shampoo/conditioner recently? If so, maybe your hair isn't taking well to the new brand, if not, maybe it has built up a bit of a "tolerance" to the old stuff.

Have you been pregnant/had children? Hair goes through loads of changes during those times!

Lastly, and this may be the biggest factor...what you eat can affect your hair. If you are not eating healthily, your hair, skin, and/or nails can and will show it.

I think my hair is getting thinner and breaking off, is their something I could stop it?

Your hair can change permanently after having a child, so this may very well be the case. I would definitely suggest a deep conditioning treatment and regular trims! Best of luck! Report It

I think my hair is getting thinner and breaking off, is their something I could stop it?

stop dying ur hair and using heat on it for a little while use a volumizing shampoo and a deep conditioner it should help

I think my hair is getting thinner and breaking off, is their something I could stop it?

it happens when you get older. there's nothing you can do to stop it. volumizing shampoos can help it look thicker, but it won't be thicker.

I think my hair is getting thinner and breaking off, is their something I could stop it?

DONT :

DYE IT

PUT IRONS ON IT

it should work !!

I think my hair is getting thinner and breaking off, is their something I could stop it?

Intensive condition your hair once a week. I bleach my hair every few weeks and have a lot of breakage. Put on an intensive conditioner, wrap it in a towel for heat and do something else for a few hours (overnight is good too but makes a bit of a mess in bed).

Hot oil didn't help much with my hair.. It might with yours though.

I find Aussie conditioner very good but again it depends on your hair.

Invest in a good leave in conditioner. Charles Worthington in a orange tube/bottle is very good.

Leave your hair to get a little greasy occasionally. The natural oils will do it good.

Also, make sure you use a moisturising product if you use a lot of heat. You get creams specifically for hair that is straightened and blowdried. You put it on your hair (usually wet) before you are going to apply heat and it protects it.

I think my hair is getting thinner and breaking off, is their something I could stop it?

You can try the Chinese herb He Shou Wu, Polygonum Multiflorum. This is a blood tonic, and, since the hair is the effulgence of blood, this herb has a great effect on hair. Taken internally. It also will darken the hair.

I think my hair is getting thinner and breaking off, is their something I could stop it?

Shave your head.

1. someone had to attempt it inorder for them to post the warning

2. they don't want to be sued for not posting the hazards

Are ionic hair dryers and flat irons better for the hair?

The best thing you can do for your hair is use a product that you put on BEFORE you use either. A heat protectant is good... Sexy Hair makes a Straight Sexy Hair spray on that totally protects me from damage - and I use both 5-6 times a week.

Are ionic hair dryers and flat irons better for the hair?

all do damage, you need to protect your hair no matter what. ionic is just a fancy way of saying. They still heat and blow, right?

Are ionic hair dryers and flat irons better for the hair?

Well I have a ceramic flat iron (CHI) and it makes my hair MUCH smoother and shinier than regular metal flat irons. I've tried the Conair ionic hair dryer, nothing different than the regular ones. But then again it is Conair, so they are usually pretty cheap anyways.

Are ionic hair dryers and flat irons better for the hair?

Anything that requires heat damages your hair. There are tons of heat protectant sprays on the market that supposedly lessen the damage, though. I recently bought an ionic hair dryer and didn't see much difference except for a clunky attachment.

Are ionic hair dryers and flat irons better for the hair?

Use an ionic flat iron. It will not curl back easly.

Are expensive hair dryers worth the cost? What about damage to hair? Do they minimize damage?

There isn't much difference after a point...there are the cheap dryers that don't get hot and don't blow much air, then there are the ones that do both and burn the hair, then there are the so-called Ionic dryers...

I've always used a Revlon dryer....it dried my hair fine, but after using it DAILY I noticed that my hair had dried and the ends were bad.

So I bought a Rusk Hyper Ionic dryer ($140 in stores) and it leaves my hair softer, and it has different heat settings (hot/warm/cool) and a Cold shot button (MUCH colder than other dryers I've used). I think it's worth it...but the ones that are $200 and $300...I just can't tell the difference in what I have and those.

Are expensive hair dryers worth the cost? What about damage to hair? Do they minimize damage?

Nooo I don't think that buying an expensive dryer is worth it.

Are expensive hair dryers worth the cost? What about damage to hair? Do they minimize damage?

I guess so; expenisve dryers mean that your hair will turn out better. Yes, they will still damage your hair, so keep it healthy!

Are expensive hair dryers worth the cost? What about damage to hair? Do they minimize damage?

Nope, I don't think they're worth it..... the principle is the same: hot air, and the damage will be the same. It's not like a flat iron, which can damage hair more or less depending on the material they're made of..... I guess all dryers have the same effect no matter what their price is.

What should i do with my hair when I got to guatemala for 2 weeks??

im going on a mission trip to guatemala in june and we can't bring hair dryers or straighteners since there arent outlets..

my hair gets really frizzy and icky wavy and kind of kinky.. what should i do with it??

What should i do with my hair when I got to guatemala for 2 weeks??

If you straighten your hair, you should wash, blow dry, and striaghten it right before you you leave. Then just comb it every once in a while. When you sleep or are not doing anything that requires you to have nice nice hair... put it in a bun. When it starts to get oily you pull out waterless shampoo (comes in a can kinda like hairspray). You spray it on your roots and the powderish residue soakes up the oils. It will give your straightened hair a little more longevity. Then if your up for it, once you hair is too far gone, check out the local beauty shops, I bet you can get your hair done there for like 10 bucks or less! Might as well come back looking great!

What should i do with my hair when I got to guatemala for 2 weeks??

braid it?! or bring hair ties?! how hard is that... Good luck on your trip!

What should i do with my hair when I got to guatemala for 2 weeks??

bring some anti frizz cream and put it in two braids.

Can you bring hair dryers in checked baggage on us flights?

Yes you can - I always travel with mine.

For the complete list of what you can and can not bring on the aircraft in both your checked and carry on luggage go to the TSA website http://www.tsa.gov/

Can you bring hair dryers in checked baggage on us flights?

yes if checked and not on your carry on bag

Can you bring hair dryers in checked baggage on us flights?

not on the plane itself...but some airlines will let you put them in baggage that is stored in the baggage compartment...just not with you inside the plane.

be cool...

Can you bring hair dryers in checked baggage on us flights?

yes. visit the transportation security administration website for all the information you need.

http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/index.shtm

Can you bring hair dryers in checked baggage on us flights?

Yes. Check out the tsa website, I believe that it's www.tsa.gov

Can you bring hair dryers in checked baggage on us flights?

You need to ask the airline that you will be traveling on. They change the rules so frequently nowadays, it is best to get a list of allowable and restricted items each time you fly.

Can you bring hair dryers in checked baggage on us flights?

Yes. That's one thing they haven't restricted yet. For a list of what you can and can't carry, check the website below.

Can you bring hair dryers in checked baggage on us flights?

Yes. See my source link for a complete list.

Can you bring hair dryers in checked baggage on us flights?

In checked baggage, which is in the plane itself (!), of course. Ask a travel agent about taking a dryer in your carry-on. As long as it's a plug-in model (not battery operated), there should be no problem.

Can you bring hair dryers in checked baggage on us flights?

There are no restrictions on taking hair driers and there never have been, whether you have them in your checked baggage or in your hand luggage. The only restrictions apart from the long-standing restrictions on explosives, fireworks, corrosives, etc are that you cannot take more than small quantities of liquids and gels in your hand luggage any more.

You might have a problem if you have one of those driers that works using gas cartridges but a regular electric one will be fine.

Incidentally, a UK drier will not work very well in the US due to different voltage requirements. It will be extremely slow and it will take forever to dry your hair. The cheapest option would be simply buy a new one in the US. They start at around $20 (11 pounds sterling). If you are staying at a 3-star hotel or better, you will almost certainly find a drier in your room.

Can you bring hair dryers in checked baggage on us flights?

No you cannot take any elictrical equipment with you.

Can you bring hair dryers in checked baggage on us flights?

Of course you can carry hair driers, but the US and European electrical systems are different, so you will need adaptors or maybe transformers etc. Why not buy a cheap hair drier when you get there. That way, there is no problem with getting the thing to work properly on the local power supply. Its safer too.

Can you bring hair dryers in checked baggage on us flights?

Yes no problems as long as it is in the hold. Make sure it's a travel one though - I took my nice hair dryer to florida last year - took up the weight of loads of clothes and it didn't work properly because the voltage wasn't the same. Be careful I'm sure you'll want the weight for shopping and clothes!!! Have fun!!!

Can you bring hair dryers in checked baggage on us flights?

yes

I have afro hair and the ends of my hair are very dry, wat can i do to make it strong?

ive tryed olive oil, mayo and all those home made things, i dnt use hair dryers or irons alot hardly any

I have afro hair and the ends of my hair are very dry, wat can i do to make it strong?

You can buy those special conditioners for Afro hair that you spay on and leave in. I brought some great ones for my sisters kids there hair is really wild lol! It also help if you have it trimmed more it helps it to grow quicker and come back healthier.

I have afro hair and the ends of my hair are very dry, wat can i do to make it strong?

Iron tablets

I have afro hair and the ends of my hair are very dry, wat can i do to make it strong?

Mane and tail shampoo and conditioner

I have afro hair and the ends of my hair are very dry, wat can i do to make it strong?

Get lots of vitamins.

I have afro hair and the ends of my hair are very dry, wat can i do to make it strong?

suave humacant shampoo.

I have afro hair and the ends of my hair are very dry, wat can i do to make it strong?

GET BEESWAX AND APPLY 2 THE ENDS WITH UR FINGERTIPS. IT HELPS SEAL SPLIT ENDS AND HELPS DRY ENDS.

I have afro hair and the ends of my hair are very dry, wat can i do to make it strong?

First, you need to get a haircut that will get rid of all the dead hair.

Then use Sunsilk, shampoo and conditionar. I would use the one for Dry hair and hair that needs extra care.Their cheap, like 4 bucks a bottle, but they work, and it leaves your hair feeling nice and silky smooth.

I have afro hair and the ends of my hair are very dry, wat can i do to make it strong?

EVERY day rinse your hair with HOT water, wash your hair twice...Like shampoo it twice...And then rinse off with COLD water let hair become damp and put conditioner it...If you have a shower cap put that on your hair leave it on for any where over 30 mins.

If you dont have a shower cap Syran rap works just the same....

Then rinse with Cold water

BUT you have to do so every day

I have afro hair and the ends of my hair are very dry, wat can i do to make it strong?

Make sure you are not using hair products with alcohol in them, these will dry out your hair.

You do NOT need to shampoo your hair everyday, this WILL dry your hair out, try once a week. You can do a water rinse or conditioner only wash in between shampoos. Try using a heated conditioner when you can, if you have a heat cap or you can wear a shower cap under hot water in the shower.

At night try sleeping with either a satin pillow case or a silk scarf on your hair, because cotton and other synthetic materials will break the ends of your hair (this is the same for wool hats).

Then in the morning you can use a water spritzer for moisture and a little jojoba oil.

You should be fine as long as you are styling gently and not using straight rubber bands or anything else pulling or damaging on your hair ends.

Check out my afro hair blog for more info on afro hair care: http://www.flickr.com/groups/nappyco

Hope this helps!

I have afro hair and the ends of my hair are very dry, wat can i do to make it strong?

try S-curl and co-washing daily to every other day

I have afro hair and the ends of my hair are very dry, wat can i do to make it strong?

My hair is the same. Here's what I do:

Shampoo and Conditioner:

Garnier Fructis, Long and Strong or Pantene Extra Moisture. Stay away from Dove products.

3 Minute Conditioner

Garnier Fructis

Every other day:

Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Grease, mixed with olive oil from your kitchen.

Ever other day:

Garnier Fructis Leave In Conditioner for Permed/Color Treated Hair.

I have afro hair and the ends of my hair are very dry, wat can i do to make it strong?

i have thick curly hair i know where you coming from. what you can do is use a moisturizing shampoo or hydrating shampoo and this is because Afro hair is a lot more dry than other hair types.also use a moisturizing conditioner and a leave in conditioner. use a hair moisturizer (it's anything that has aqua which is water as one of the first ingredients at the back), here are some examples of moisturizers

http://www.walgreens.com/store/productli...

i use SoftSheen-Carson Wave Nouveau Daily Humectant because humectants attract moisture from the surroundings to moisturize your hair and it keeps my hair moisturized when it gets dry. also wash your hair more offent minimum once a week and between shampooing your hair wash your hair with conditioner which will add extra moisture this is called co-washing or the no-poo method. also try not to keep the ends of your hair out this can also dry out your, try putting it in a bun or French twist and sleep in a satin scarf it really keeps your hair soft and moisturized. i do all of this and trust me it works i do it myself.

I have afro hair and the ends of my hair are very dry, wat can i do to make it strong?

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Use a teaspoon of every oil and honey,.... a little more if ur hair is long or a little less if ur hair is short

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed, fortify, reconstruct, moisturize, soften %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can also use a conditioner but get a light conditioner that wont wiegh ur hair down, becuz u can over condition, I use herbl essences "clean happy" conditioner.

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

Hair dryers and straighteners?

can anybody who as answered the question about the above items going in hand luggage when you fly explain WHY THE ABOVE CANNOT BE TAKEN AS HAND LUGGAGE..

Almost everybody as answered NO you cannot take on as hand luggage. can anyone provide a link to verify this

Hair dryers and straighteners?

don't know where you are but i RANG dublin airport on this one. we are off to madrid next month with just hand luggage and my sister wanted to bring her hair straightener. i had to be sure cos its a bit dear to be leaving behind if you cant take it. the man said it would be fine, you can take a dryer, straightener and shoes. they were the only things i asked about. ring whatever airport you are flying from because ultimately it will be them making the decision, not the airline and certainly not the people on here with so many conflicting answers.

Hair dryers and straighteners?

Actually, I think they're wrong. It looks as though you can take hairdryers through but they have to be screened separately (like laptops and mobile phones). I'm afraid I can't find anything about straighteners though.

Follow this link: http://www.dft.gov.uk/transportforyou/ai...

Hair dryers and straighteners?

ummm, i took my hair straightners on an airfrance flight 2 months ago and had no problems. Check with your the air carrier your using, it should tell you on there website. If not phone your local airport help desk.

Hair dryers and straighteners?

Shouldn't be a problem, I do it all the time!

Are Hair-Dryers bad for your hair? What if you used the Cold air option is it still bad?

if you use a quality hair dryer correctly %26amp; take good care of your hair, there is no problem with using one. try to let your hair dry at least somewhat naturally after you get out of the shower, comb (not brush) through your wet hair to get rid of tangles. apply some leave-in heat activated conditioner that will not only help protect your hair but aid in making it sleek and shiny. blowdry your hair but not at the highest heat setting, the medium setting will do. (if it comes w/ an attachement, use it to disperse the air more thoroughly). don't blow dry your hair for too long. once youve blown the style you want, use the cold option to seal/lock in your style %26amp; add volume. hope this helps

Are Hair-Dryers bad for your hair? What if you used the Cold air option is it still bad?

some people say that.........but i use it most of the time.........I don't see anything bad and yeah I used the cold air option too..........I really don't think is bad

Are Hair-Dryers bad for your hair? What if you used the Cold air option is it still bad?

When your hair is wet, your hair is REALLY breakable. Even if you use the cold air option, your hair is going to become damaged to some extent.

There are treatments you can use to help deal with hair trauma, and if you blot your hair and let it air dry a little bit before drying it, you're going to help out a LOT. Also, NEVER go to sleep with your hair wet!

Are Hair-Dryers bad for your hair? What if you used the Cold air option is it still bad?

If you use the cold air option it should be fine, the only thing is that keeping the dryer on this setting will ruin most dryers. Try to put a thermal protector in your hair before drying. Also, if possible try to invest in the tourmaline dryer.

Are Hair-Dryers bad for your hair? What if you used the Cold air option is it still bad?

o don think so, but if u use hair straightner all the time, it's bad for your hair.

Are Hair-Dryers bad for your hair? What if you used the Cold air option is it still bad?

Hair-Dryers can be bad if you use them too much and as far as the cold air option thats not good for you either since cold and wet hair dont ever go together

Are Hair-Dryers bad for your hair? What if you used the Cold air option is it still bad?

they aren't bad for you if you use hair serum. all the cold air option does is give you a cold. (:

oh yeah if you're willing to pay more for a hair dryer, i recommend the ones with ION labeled on the box. it keeps your hair shiny!

Are Hair-Dryers bad for your hair? What if you used the Cold air option is it still bad?

it depends but arent they both the same (cold%26amp;hot)

Are Hair-Dryers bad for your hair? What if you used the Cold air option is it still bad?

Hair dryers are bad for your hair if you use them everyday. That can fry your hair.Every once in a while let your hair dry naturally without any heat.

Are Hair-Dryers bad for your hair? What if you used the Cold air option is it still bad?

yes any kind of heat is bad for your hair. %26amp; Yes the cold blowing part would be better for your hair but it would also take twice as long. Just use the hot for a little bit then when your done use the cold button for a min to set you "do". fyi. :)

Are Hair-Dryers bad for your hair? What if you used the Cold air option is it still bad?

wel yeah hair dryers are bad for your hiar..and the cold setting is a lil better, but it still damages your hair. the heat dires out your ahir and damages it,and the cold setting still has some heat,so i doesnt completely solve the problem, but it does help a lil

Are Hair-Dryers bad for your hair? What if you used the Cold air option is it still bad?

THE BEST THING FOR YOUR HAIR-----

don't go overboard with shampoo and conditioner! if you use too much, it might make your hair feel silkier, but less is more!

also, if you blow-dry in layers, one at a time, it takes a shorter time and helps your hair more.

you can try these, but remeber-the best thing for your hair is air-drying.

Thinning hair?

Over the past 6 months or so, my hair has begun to thin. I'm 16 and rarely use anything like hair dryers or straightners.

Is there any way to get it back to it's usual thickness?

Thinning hair?

use dove repairing shampoo and rogaine

Thinning hair?

i dont know any but u could go to salon and ask if they have and shampoos for that.

Thinning hair?

If your willing to get your hair cut, when you do ask for layers. The layers can make your hair look thicker and give it more texture. If you dont want to cut you hair using added volume shampoo and conditioner can help.

Thinning hair?

let it grow thats it.

Thinning hair?

use volumizing shampoo's and conditioners! and if you put hair products in your hair such as moose or hairspray or gel always make it volumizing! always remember to cut it every 3 months to keep it growing healthy

Thinning hair?

nioxin shampoo and conditioner for thinning hair! try it. you can buy it at trade secret.

It all depends on why your hair is thinning.

You need to find out why it is thinning.

Thinning hair?

How is your diet ?

This plays a bid role in the condition of your hair.

If you have a good diet than Nexxus is a good line to try it worked well for me when my hair started to thin after giving birth.

Good luck.

Thinning hair?

Hey nioxin works pretty good..i usally use it, if your stressed, have thyroid problems usally have thinning hair.

Thinning hair?

Maybe you need to talk to your doctor or hairdresser about that. The only thing I can think of is you must be under some extreme stress.

Thinning hair?

Well you may hafta find the cause of why ur hair is thinning and tackle that. things such as stress or extreme change can make hair thin. Also eat more amino acids(protein)/improve diet. that will help thinken it up.

Are hair dryers bad for your hair?

In general, no they are not.

But, it is possible to use too high heat and to burn or dry out your hair.

It is best to towel dry your hair as much as possible before drying. Use a moderate heat setting. Don't hold the dryer too close to your hair. Don't overdry your hair, especially if it is thin, fine or dry--it shouldn't be bone dry when you finish but just a bit damp-dry.

If your hair is very dry you can use a conditioner or a hair product to help reduce the drying effect.

Are hair dryers bad for your hair?

yeah

Are hair dryers bad for your hair?

yes, but if you use good hair products it can reduce the stress and damage. In the summertime, I'll sit in front of a fan and dry my hair that way. (Cool air). Alternatively, let your hair air dry at least 1/2 way before turning on the heat if you have time...or make sure the towel really sops up as much water as possible.

Are hair dryers bad for your hair?

they can be it just depends on the type of dryer u get but dont get one too strong or else it will burn ur hair so dont use them all the time

How to get rid of lice?

my daughter has lice and we have been fighting them for three months! She starts school next week and we still can't get rid of them. My husband nor I have got them. We have use nix, oil, hair dryer, rx, and mayo. What ealse am I missing? Help please!

How to get rid of lice?

You have to get rid of them in her bedding and in your house, and in her toys/stuffed animals. They lay eggs. They hatch.

Wash her bedding, throw out pillows, buy new. Wash everything in her room, any clothes laying around, vacuum her bed, dispose outside immediately of the vacuumed "dust." Spray with Nix or Rid lice household spray.

At walmart they have a lice comb, that a fellow-teacher uses all the time when she gets worried about getting lice. It is made by Nix or Rid and it sends waves throughout the hair shafts and zaps the little bugs, but to us it is just like using a regular comb. I think they are about $20.

IT'S CALLED ROBI COMB.Finally, Eliminate Head Lice Safely and Gently without having to put your child in the bathtub!

As the comb slides through DRY hair, it makes a soft humming sound until it encounters a louse. At that time, the sound stops and a small electrical charge passes from one of the comb閳ユ獨 teeth through the louse and instantly killing the louse. Using the small brush included in the package, the user removes the dead louse from the comb閳ユ獨 teeth and resumes combing. The comb can be stored and used repeatedly by the entire family.

Detects, Kills and Removes Head Lice %26amp; Nits

Can be used repeatedly by the whole family

Powered by a Single AA Battery

http://www.schoolhealth.com/shop/pe_9027...

But, if you don't get rid of them in her environment, you will continue to get them. Make sure you pick out every single nit, or else more will hatch.

How to get rid of lice?

RAID! But they're in her hair... hmm... have you tried asking the pharmacist?

How to get rid of lice?

There are two options, either purchase a special lice-removing shampoo and use, then continue wasking hair more often theu currently doing with reguler shampoo once gone. If that doesn't work, the only other option is to shave all the hair off to get rid of lice.

Consult your doctor for best advice.

How to get rid of lice?

you have to wash all the bedding, clothing, stuffed animals, pillows, hats, jackets with hoods, hoodie sweat-shirts, hairbrushes and combs.......anything your daughter has come in contact with , at the same time you do the head treatment.......you also have to be diligent and pick the nits out with that special comb. You should repeat the treatment after a week ( and YES, this means washing all that stuff again !! )

if this does not work, you may want to check out your daughters play-mates.......she may just be getting re-infected from whomever she got them from in the first place.

Kids pass them around easily...and more often than you think.....

and cleanliness / dirtiness has NOTHING to do with lice.....even the cleanest kids / homes can get them...

How to get rid of lice?

you can use tea tree oil it is good for alot of things you can buy it at your local walmart.

How to get rid of lice?

you have to place every item that she comes in contact with in a plastic bag and close it up for a few days. get some lice spray and spray every piece of furniture that she has been sitting on. her bed, pillows.etc. they lay eggs on everything. after you spray the furniture, vacuum. she may have to start school late. as this is somewhat of a problem. the schools won't allow her in if she still has them. good luck. here is a site that tells you how

How to get rid of lice?

Lady pls dont use oil.. it isnt gonna work %26amp; is gonna make your problem worse. The recurrance is becuase your not getting their eggs. Please follow the three step process to a lice free head:

1. Please cut her hair to managable proportions if it is too long.

(pls dont go overboard or she'll end up having a nightmare at school!)

2. The most effective tool against lice is a comb and a sharp eyesight. Take a fine comb and remove all the lice you can. Also carefully look out for the eggs that they lay on the hair strands.(these are like small white round grains of sand, stuck to either the top or middle of hair strands).

3. Use a good mild anti-lice shampoo (ask your doc/pharmacist). Do NOT use anything strong. Keep using the shampoo for atleast 2-3 weeks as follow-up.

Check out http://www.shopinprivate.com/headlicefaq... for more info on Lice %26amp; Lice Infection treatment.

HAIR DISASTER! please help me!?

ok so everytime i want to wear my hair down it doesnt work out! why? because well i straighten it and its all nice...BUT, when i walk outside it gets all frizzy!!! is there any cure for this?...i mean like an organic cure not no expensive shampoos or special hair dryers or straightners...well i really hope you all can help me!

(Y) peace! (Y)

HAIR DISASTER! please help me!?

How's about giving it a natural cheap, chemical free protein shampoo?? Simply crack open an egg and beat with a fork. Then add enough shampoo for two applications. Mix it up and apply half of it as you would normally if you were simply shampooing ............... wrap in a towel and leave it for 5 mins then rinse thoroughly and put in the rest of the mix, massaging it in and also leave for 5 minutes. When you've rinse this lot out simply put a couple tablespoons of white vinegar in a 2 litre bottle and fill with warm water and, making sure your eyes are closed, rinse off the excess film and chemical build up with the vinegar mixture ........ the egg's protein content will restore your hair's natural lustre and the vinegar mix restores the natural ph balance to your skin and hair !! Voila !! Absolutely marvellous I reckon.

CHEERS

閳?br>HAIR DISASTER! please help me!?

herbal essences has this shampoo called 'none of your friziness' wash your hair witht he shampoo and conditner (theyre like 3 bucks each i think) and then blow dry your hair with a regular dryer. straighten it if you want but this is what i do and it works and i live in florida and the humidity is horrible here!! lol

HAIR DISASTER! please help me!?

Well, people have sworn that olive oil works.

o.o

Just try rubing it thru dry hair to smooth it out, it's worth a try.

I need some new hair ideas.. any new things that you guys have tried that looks good?

Well, try a mowhawk. Like, you straighten yo' hair then you get some hair from the front and put something under it then you put a clip on it. kinda like on flavor of love charm school girl, Brooke's, hair.

Are hair dryers good for the hair?

if so which is the best one in the indian market?

Are hair dryers good for the hair?

Not all of them are bad for the hair but most of them are.

Are hair dryers good for the hair?

no, not good at all

Are hair dryers good for the hair?

Actually frequent hair drying with a hair dryer damages the texture of the hair, so let it dry naturally if possible, use hair dryer only when it is extremely necessary, such as when you need to go out for occassion.

Are hair dryers good for the hair?

Yes, hairdryers are good for the hair for as long that you don't abuse using it. Always used moderate temperature and finish it with the cold one. Unfortunately, I'm not from India so I don't know which one is best in the Indian market but you can try to see in hair salon.

Are hair dryers good for the hair?

No hair dryers are NOT good for your hair. Nothing having to do with heat is good. It drys your hair out and makes it fall out.

Are hair dryers good for the hair?

hair dryers are not good.it makes ur scalp dry

you can try black %26amp; decker

Are hair dryers good for the hair?

well the best is to air dry

next best is to use a bonet hair dryer or a hooded one like at the beauty salon

the worst is to use hand held blow dryers, expecially the ones with comb and brush attachments.

Are hair dryers good for the hair?

Not for the hair

Not for the head

My cat hate them

a lot

And if you still want one of those things try to buy it a good trend mark with guarantee and very far from your hair .. maybe a kilometer.

Are hair dryers good for the hair?

No. They dry it out and can fray the ends.

My Ear hurts when I sleep on it and it has been clogged for three days?

For about a year now, when I sleep on my stomach and my head directly on the sheets- when I wake up in the mornings, my ear hurts extremely bad when I first lift my head up. I don't know if that has anything to do with my ear being clogged up now, but the last three days- I haven't been able to hear well out of my right ear. It is like it needs to be popped- but all of the typical things aren't helping, like yawning, blowing my noses, hair dryer, smoke- I have tried it all. Sometimes there is some relief and I feel like I can hear better, but it seems to "fill" back up. It is driving me nuts!! HELP

My Ear hurts when I sleep on it and it has been clogged for three days?

you might have a minor ear infection or a build up of wax. Try putting some warm olive oil in your ear before you go to sleep and plug the ear up with cotton wool.

My Ear hurts when I sleep on it and it has been clogged for three days?

lol i think that happened to me before...it could just be sore from sleeping on it...or it could be clogged with ear wax (im not kidding) don't try to clean your ears with q-tips, that will just push it in further...use a drop of mineral oil if u think its because of earwax...that is the proper way to clean your ears on a day-to-day bases...not with Q-tips...good luck = )

My Ear hurts when I sleep on it and it has been clogged for three days?

Well don't clean your ears with q-tips because it will defenitley push it in further after you take a shower just stick some tissue in your ear ( not a lot) and clean your ear. If that doesn't help. You better go to a doctor because that seems like a serious condition. Best of Luck to ya!!!

Thinning hair?

let it grow thats it.

Thinning hair?

I need to know why my hair is like this it is annoying and sorta expensive?

okay so i have coppery reddish wavy hair and i dont like the fact that it is wavy i dye it copper red it doesnt get frizzy alot but it is really wavy and i have to like switch shampoos and conditioners like evryother week after about a week or 2 with the same shampoo and conditioner it starts to make my hair all dry brittle and basicly damaged i dont use hair dryers or heat straightiners. and the longest i have used one type of shampoo/conditioner is a month and it was vo5 right now i am using burts bees and it is working pretty good but it is like 7 dollers per bottle and it makes my hair frizzy and doesnt help the waves so if u know any cheaper shampoo/conditioner besides

sunsilk

suave

vo5

pantene

aussie

ion

or fruit ensenss

that will help with the waves and will not affect the coloring please tell i really hate my wavy hair and i am jelouse of my bff reenay couse she has really straight hair (reenay is also really jelouse of me couse she wants wavy hair) but please help

I need to know why my hair is like this it is annoying and sorta expensive?

1.use a deep conditioning treatment once to twice a week

2. dont wash everyday

3. aveda products work good, but you can only get them at an aveda salon, so go to a cosmetologist supply house and talk to them about your hair care issues they should be able to show you one that works well

I need to know why my hair is like this it is annoying and sorta expensive?

i would start straightening, but get some straightening stuff to put in ur hair so it doesn't damage it, stay with how it is, don't worry about the colour, or go to a salon and ask their advice =]

I need to know why my hair is like this it is annoying and sorta expensive?

frizzy hair is caused by a lot of factors. how you style your hair, what climate you live in, and how often you shampoo and condition are all factors. dehydrated hair, or hair that has heat damage could also be the culprit. I would say that if you are switching shampoos and conditoners this much, they probably aren't what's causing your frizzstration. do you blow-dry your hair at a high heat? if so maybe switch to low or cool when drying. if you don't feel like doing that you can invest in some frizz-ease ( John Frieda, you can get it at walgreens) [ and they have 3 different formulas depending n how thick/coarse your hair is]. you only use a little bit when you style your hair and it does wonders. still don't feel like doing that? then get some heat protector spray. VO5 makes an amazing one, I use it myself. (plus is smells yummy) I hope this helped. P.S all those products I mentioned are safe to use on colored hair.

What hair dryers are good for fine/thin hair?

I need to use it to add volume to my roots. The ceramic/ionic/tourmaline- I heard this reduces drying time, so thats good.....any brand recommendations? I also want something that isn't super hot so that it scorches my scalp.

What hair dryers are good for fine/thin hair?

K...

The ceramic and Tourmaline dryers generate negative ions, which neutralize the positive ones already in your hair. When this happens the water in your hair is broken down into tiny drops, thus reducing the drying time. The only problem with this, is that becuase the ions are generated and deposited into the hair, it will add weight, making it more difficult to get volume. Try just a normal blow dryer with a big round brush.

What hair dryers are good for fine/thin hair?

i use a conair and it works great!

and just look at he cover it might tell you other wise

look for one wiht temperature changes so u can pick how hot you want it

What hair dryers are good for fine/thin hair?

I use the Diamond 3700 Ionic and it's awesome. My hair stylist in Beverly Hills Use it. They retail at like over $150, but I found a really great deal on this website: http://hairandbeauty.ecrater.com/product...

Does styling gel induce hair loss and grey hairs?

also does hair dryers(aka blow dryers) induce the same effects?

Does styling gel induce hair loss and grey hairs?

No, styling gel doesn't induce any of that. And the excessive heat from a blow dryer does slightly damage your hair which COULD eventually lead to hair loss, but you can buy a good heat protector to put in your hair before you blow dry it.

Does styling gel induce hair loss and grey hairs?

Maybe...

Does styling gel induce hair loss and grey hairs?

Lol no. If anything gel and blow dryers will dry out your hair and give you split ends.

But neither will induce grey hair.

Does styling gel induce hair loss and grey hairs?

Nope...unless the styling gel is full of chemicals, it can't harm your hair other than making it flatter because of product build-up. Hair dryers make your hair dryer, which could induce grey hairs because the lack of moisture. If you use heat-protective sprays on your hair, though, you won't have to worry about that.

Does styling gel induce hair loss and grey hairs?

no cause i use it to scrunch my hair

Does styling gel induce hair loss and grey hairs?

I have very curly hair that will frizz if you don't put product in it. i use L.A. Looks because it is the best gel that doesn't dry out your hair, since it is alcohol-free it helps your hair with its needs not reducing the worth of it, Grey hairs are not caused by gel or any hair products

Does styling gel induce hair loss and grey hairs?

It won't cause grey hair but I was using a hair gel and my hair was coming out and then I switched to a styling cream and it stopped.

How can i prevent my hair from curling?

I am forced to take showers at night, or no shower at all. So when I get out of the shower and let my hair "air-dry" it starts getting really really curly. In the morning my hair is curly and frizzy and I want to know how to prevent that! I'm not going to use any straighteners or hair dryers because my hair is dry as it is. So what are some ways I can get rid of my curly frizzy hair!?

How can i prevent my hair from curling?

Try making your hair healthy again by using shampoos that have moisture in them, like Neutrogena's Triple Moisture Line. You can buy it at Target, and after one wash%26amp;shampooing, it improved the look and feel of my hair. Once it's healthy again, you can try a chemical straightener like EASYSTRAIGHT. It comes in a box that you can buy at any drugstore and has three easy steps, lasts for three months, and works in less than one hour. Plus, you can control if you just want to decrease unruliness or be rid of it all together. And it's also healthy for your hair.

How can i prevent my hair from curling?

try sunsilk straighten up shampoo ( =

How can i prevent my hair from curling?

Try:

1) There are shampoo/conditioner perminate hair straighteners.

2) Try doing a 'John Freida' shampoo/conditioner.

How can i prevent my hair from curling?

Try starting shapoo

How can i prevent my hair from curling?

you may comb yourdry hair with lil bit of olive oil, it will shine too. Or you may keep it curly like Jesus did.

How can i prevent my hair from curling?

frizzies works put it on before you take your shower and after you will see a big improvement.

How can i prevent my hair from curling?

Ok this is something that I was taught by my mom. First you need lots of bobby pins and a comb. Take your hair and part it down the center in the back and clip the left side so it doesn't interfer with the rest. Start on the right side and comb your hair over the right side and start pinning it down to your head. Continue going around your head to the front pinning and combing. When you get the the left side left the hair out and repeat until you have no more hair left to pin. Basically what you are doing is wrapping your hair around your scalp and pinning it down. You can then wrap a bandana around yourhead to hold it in place while you sleep. In the morning unpin it and do it in the opposite direction. It may make easier to leave it in one direction for a couple of hrs and then the other way. Sounds complicated but once you get used to it is is better and safer for your hair than straighteners or dryers.

How can i prevent my hair from curling?

brush it over and over

How can i prevent my hair from curling?

I have the same problem. my hair is straight as anything. I got tired of this method so i got a perm but i will share a couple of ways with you. First is to get sponge curlers to wear at night. You will need to use some sort of scrunching spray to set the curls in the morning. I recommend Aussie scrunching spray loose hold. The bigger the curler the looser the curl. The second way is to get a LOT of bobby pins and take chunks of hair ( the bigger the chunk the looser the curl) and twist them until they twists into a tight bun and pin them. You should have at least 15 buns all over your head. In the morning spray with the scrunching spray to preserve the curls. Good luck.

How can i prevent my hair from curling?

I recommend using the John Frieda Frizz ease Shampoo, Conditioner, plus styling mousse serum these hair care products take the most frizzy of hair and transforms into beautiful managable silky hair. You Also have to do daily mostiurezing treaments by lathering your hair with mayonaise not only will it help manage your hair but it will also add nutrients and proteins to your hair and protects your hair from breakage. Use olive oil on your hair to give it that extra nurtients so with that being said here is a three step haircare stystem. Everyday you get up

1. Apply a Mayonaise and olive oil mixutre all over your hair put a shower cap on your head and leave it on for 10 minutes then rinse.

2. Use the John Frieda Frizz Ease Shampoo Condioner and hair serum.

3. After you normal styling routine apply a leave in conditioner.

With these tips you will have beautiful salon quality hair.
